Cold Weather Brings ChangesIn Shipping And Storing Procedures Water based products are safer to use, better for the environment and offer performance advantages. Because of this, more and more of our product line is formulated with a water component. As colder temperatures approach, it is necessary to pay special attention to shipping, receiving and storing these water based products. How Freezing Damages Product When water based products are allowed to freeze, a number of things can occur and none of them are good. With freezing, it is possible that product packaging will rupture, causing you inventory loss and a mess to clean up. Even if the packaging doesn't rupture, freezing adversely affects the components of water based products. For some, emulsion stability will be compromised and the product won't stay mixed as needed for proper application. For others, freezing will cause separation of the active components, leading to poor or failed product performance. Because Nox-Crete is based in the Midwest, all water based shipments during the colder weather months are shipped with carriers offering temperature-controlled transit, regardless of final destination, in order to safeguard you from loss. Even with our best intentions, extremes in temperature and other weather-related events may sometimes cause these carriers to delay delivery in order to ensure safe arrival and may sometimes affect the reliability of the temperature-controlled transit. To safeguard you from receiving product that was exposed to freezing temperatures, we place a Freeze Indicator on at least one drum or pail in each shipment of water based product. Freeze IndicatorsThese Freeze Indicators are placed on the top of product packaging. A red and white label is also used as a reminder to check the Freeze Indicator before accepting the shipment. The end of the Freeze Indicator will be clear (water white) if the product has arrived safely without exposure to freezing temperatures. A colored Freeze Indicator end means the shipment has been exposed to freezing temperatures. Email Shipping Alerts Once your shipment has left our facility, we will send you email notification. This email will provide you with an approximate arrival time for your order as well as instructions and reminders regarding the Freeze Indicator and what to do if the Freeze Indicator on your shipment is red. Be sure to protect your company from losses by checking this indicator BEFORE receiving the shipment. If the Freeze Indicator has changed color, DO NOT receive the shipment. Instead, contact Nox-Crete immediately for further instructions. Once you have received your water based product shipment, proper storage will also be necessary to protect the product from exposure to freezing temperatures. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
