Destry Kenning named CFA Associate of the Year

Destry Kenning, Nox-Crete Forming Segment Manager, has been recognized by the Concrete Foundations Association (CFA) for his contributions to the organization and for his submissions for their publication, “Concrete Facts Magazine.” The Associate of the Year Award was presented to Kenning on July 28 at the CFA’s annual banquet, held in Denver Colo., during their annual conference.

Destry Kenning, Nox-Crete Forming Segment Manager, has received the Associate of the Year Award from the Concrete Foundations Association.

Craig Coppersmith, Nox-Crete’s vice president of technical sales and new product development, notes that Kenning’s award is well-deserved recognition for an up-and-coming professional making his mark in the forming industry.

“Destry serves as a great technical engineer representing Nox-Crete and we are proud to have him on our team,” Coppersmith said. “What is really impressive about Destry is his commitment and ambassadorship to the forming industry as a whole. It’s nice to have passion like that recognized.”

Kenning says the award is reflective of the importance Nox-Crete as a company places on educating the concrete forming industry. Within the concrete forming industry, Kenning notes solving problems such as buildup on forms is just as important today as it was 63 years ago, when Carl Linn started Nox-Crete by inventing the first chemically-reactive release agent.

“Whether a forming contractor uses wood forms, aluminum forms, or another type of form surface, the money is made by maximizing the life of the forms by keeping them clean and ensuring that they release easily from the concrete,” Kenning said.  “Our articles aim to educate the industry on the factors that affect the result, so that decisions can be made upfront that will lead to the best results in the long run.”

The CFA Associate of the Year Award is presented annually to honor a contributing member to the CFA who has made a significant impact. CFA members submit nominations for the honoree which are then voted on by CFA board members.
