Creating Community in Concrete: Nox-Crete Supports Davidson Park in Milwaukee
In the heart of Milwaukee’s Near West Side, an exciting new community space has come to life, transforming what was once a 4-acre parking lot into a soulful, vibrant green space for residents and visitors alike. Davidson Park, created by the Harley-Davidson Foundation in partnership with internationally renowned Heatherwick Studio, is a testament to creative design and community collaboration. HGA, the project’s architect and engineer of record, and Greenfire Management Services, the construction partner, worked with Heatherwick Studio to turn the vision into a welcoming reality.
Nox-Crete is proud to have contributed to this remarkable project, providing our dependable Cure & Seal 1315 A to help ensure the park’s durability and aesthetic appeal. Designed to protect and enhance concrete surfaces, Cure & Seal 1315 A is a solvent-based, 25% high-solids, copolymer formulation that creates a vapor seal to retain moisture for proper curing. Within 30 minutes, it forms a dust- and tack-proof surface, providing robust protection against weather and wear.
Why Cure & Seal 1315 A?
Cure & Seal 1315 A stands out for its versatility and high-performance capabilities:
- Durable Protection: The high-solids, copolymer formulation performs effectively in both warm and cold conditions, making it ideal for diverse climates like Milwaukee’s.
- Rapid Application: When applied, it dries to a dustproof, tack-free state within half an hour, ensuring that concrete surfaces are quickly shielded from rain, scuffing, and foot traffic.
- Long-Lasting Beauty: This cure and seal compound doubles as a curing agent and high-gloss sealer, preserving both the durability and the visual appeal of concrete surfaces.
A Project for the Community, By the Community
Davidson Park represents the power of community-driven design. “Voices from all over the Near West Side—from Potawatomi leaders to local students and community groups—played a crucial role throughout the process,” said Peter Balistrieri, Principal and National Corporate Market Sector Leader at HGA. “This is truly a park for the community, by the community.” It’s a space where the Milwaukee community can gather, connect, and enjoy their surroundings, shaped by the input and collaboration of local stakeholders.
At Nox-Crete, we’re thrilled to have contributed our expertise in concrete care to support this space’s longevity and appeal. We take great pride in being part of a project with such a lasting impact on the community.
